Video re-emerges of Tyson Fury aged 16 winning first ever amateur fight by stoppage in last round

Tyson Fury had natural boxing talent from a very young age and boxed as an amateur in his youth.

The two-time heavyweight world champion was brought up in a fighting family amid a traveller background.

His father John Fury was a British contender back in the 1980s/1990s and quickly introduced Tyson to the gym.

As a junior, Fury will have undoubtedly had many small bouts behind closed doors, but his first serious amateur contest came on March 17, 2005 - aged 16.

RAF Wyton was the venue for the bout, with a young man named Duncan Lee lined up as Fury's opponent.

Lee, who is now a music teacher, recalled: "I was a 16 year old boxer weighing above 97kg.

"I qualified into the ‘super-heavyweight’ division, which enabled me to fight a not so huge choice of just two opponents in the entire UK.

"Fortunately I won my first fight which was a great start to my mini boxing career.

"My second fight happened to be against the soon-to-be world champion Tyson Fury who was making his debut to what would be an incredible career in boxing.

"Having lost to Tyson Fury and with school pressures at the time, I decided to end my very short and what seemed an insignificant career in boxing."

However, Lee did not realise how impactful his 'mini career' would turn out to be.

Eventually, he uploaded the footage of the fight to YouTube with the caption: "Here is the footage from Tyson Fury's first ever boxing match against myself (Duncan Lee).

"There were three, two-minute rounds. Tyson stopped me in third due to excessive bleeding from my face. After the fight had finished he came to shake my hand in the changing room. He was a true gent.

"Please excuse the poor filming from my Dad. He was too busy watching me getting beaten up!"

Late last year, the pair somewhat reunited for the first time since sharing the ring.

Lee recorded a video message for Fury which was played during an interview on ITV's This Morning.

Tyson was clearly touched and responded: "It's very kind of him.

"All the best to him and good luck in the future, whatever he does."
