Yesterday evening Rio saw the  Men’s Synchronized diving final take place, where Tom Daley and Daniel Goodfellow added another medal to team GB’s list by taking home the bronze.

Tom and Daniel made their final dive in the men’s synchronized 10m platform .The pair executed six separate dives as part of the final and finished up with  444.45 points.

China won gold with 496.98 points while the USA came in second with 457.11 points.

What’s amazing about this is Tom and Daniel only started training with each other last October. While Tom is household name not much is really known about Daniel.

Daniel is 19 years old and is originally from Cambridge but now lives in Plymouth to train. In 2011 he won a bronze medal in the 3m Springboard at European Junior Diving Championships.

2013, made his senior European and World Championship debut and won gold in his last ever European Junior Championships.

After over a season out due to  a shoulder injury Daniel  was given the chance to partner with Tom if he could keep up with him, which he later said in an interview that being out for so long really motivated him to take the opportunity.

He even moved in Tom’s apartment during training to help them bond.

Both Tom and Daniel took Twitter last night after their win to express how happy they were.
