On March 23, 1993, Cook was born to his parents, Ted Cook and Janet Cook, in Washington DC, United States. He has a younger sister named Kelsey Cook in his family.
His town was very close to the state of Maryland, so he attended the DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. His father, Ted, used to own a Lemonade Stand at United Station and was quite a famous fast food restaurant runner.
Quinn was quite close to his father since his childhood. Ted was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, and he instilled the same love for the sport in his kid as well.
Cook had his first basketball while still a toddler, and he had already begun playing organized basketball before he was ten.
He used to play good games with his teammates while he was in just middle school.
He frequently traveled outside D.C. to participate in various school-level tournaments. His parents, especially his dad, had his back throughout his junior years and used to go along with him to his games to cheer him up.
Ted even often used to leave his work and help his son during his practice sessions.
Sadly, he lost his mentor and first coach when he was fourteen. Ted died of a heart attack when Quinn had just begun playing for his high school basketball team.
Cook studied at DeMatha Catholic High School until his junior high school year. He had made many friends there, among whom Jerami and Jerian Grant, Victor Oladipo, etc., later played in the NBA League.
He then attended Oak Hill Academy for a year before graduating high school in 2011. After that, he enrolled in Duke University for his further education.
Quinn Cook | Career
High School Career
Cook played high school basketball in two different schools. He played three seasons with the DeMatha Catholic, leading them to become the number one team in the state in his junior season.
However, he lost his father while playing his first season, due to which he missed many matches. In addition, it took him some time to escape the trauma.
Even though he was of an average height for a basketball player, he did very well during his high school career.
In his junior season, he earned the Washington Post All-Met Player of The Year for his performance. Moreover, he got an opportunity to be a part of the team that played the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game.
He decided to switch schools for his senior high school year and played for the Oak Hill Academy’s team. He finished the last season with an average of 19.1 points per game.

College Career
Cook finished high school as a high recruit ranked athlete, so many universities had pursued him, including UCLA and North Carolina. However, he chose to play for Duke Blue Devils for his college basketball.
Unfortunately, he suffered from a knee injury before his freshman season began. Although he recovered before the tournament, his performance in the first season was miserable.
However, he picked up his form the next season and then did not disappoint in his next three seasons for the Blue Devils.
He averaged 11.7 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game in his sophomore season.
His performance peaked in his senior season when he led his team to the 2015 NCAA championship victory. He finished his final season with an average of career-best 15.3 points per game.
Professional Career
Finishing his college years with the national championship, Quinn was almost sure he would get picked in the 2015 NBA draft. But, to his disappointment, none of the NBA clubs looked upon him, and as a result, he remained undrafted.
But that was not the end of his basketball career.
He soon joined the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers for two separate minor leagues and remained with them briefly.
Cook later signed with the Canton Charge (now Cleveland Charge) on October 30, 2015, to appear in the NBA D-League.
He remained with the Charge for two league seasons and was quite impressive. He averaged 19.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in his rookie season.
Consequently, he was named the Rookie of the Year in 2016.
After performing equally well in the second season, the Dallas Mavericks allowed him to play in the NBA regular-season games. However, he did not impress them, and he soon returned to the Charge.
Cook made a comeback to the NBA after signing with the New Orlean Pelicans in 2017. After appearing in nine matches for the Pelicans, the Golden State Warriors acquired him for the new season.
He stayed with the Warriors for two seasons, where he played the most matches. Likewise, he won his first NBA championship with them in 2018.
Later on, he played two more NBA seasons for his dad’s favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers. He won his second championship ring with the Lakers in 2020.
Quinn has recently associated himself with the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League.
Shortly before, he had a brief stint with the VTB United League’s Lokomotiv Kuban and NBA clubs like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers.
International Career
Apart from a professional career, Cook has represented the U.S. national teams of different age categories in various international tournaments.

However, he got an opportunity to make money through the NBA league as well.
Unfortunately, his first appearance with the Dallas Mavericks did not pay him well. The club paid him just around $31k for around six matches.
However, in the long run, he again got to play for various other clubs for a longer duration, due to which he was paid a better amount. As a result, Cook accumulated approximately $7 million from his overall NBA career.
