Nick Carter’s newest album, All American, was released Wednesday. Carter decided to come up with a fun idea to get the newest collaboration with Avril Lavigne, “Get Over Me,” played on the radio.

Carter decided to use Twitter for his idea. He decided to reward the first radio station that put “Get Over Me” on rotation by donating $5,000 to the charity of their choice. After he shared his idea on Twitter, Elvis Duran from The Elvis Duran Show suggested he would play the song once on his show and double the donation Carter would make to a charity.

Today, Nick Carter was a guest on The Elvis Duran Show and he talked about his idea to get the new single on rotation. He talked about how people loved his performance of “I Will Wait” on the “Dancing With the Stars” finale Tuesday night. He wanted to come up with a fun way to get his new song on the radio, which led to his idea to donate $5,000 to a charity. Elvis Duran stuck to his tweet, and announced he would match Carter’s donation. As a result, $10,000 will be donated to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

For those Backstreet Boys fans, Carter did not disappoint. At the end of his interview, he mentioned the band is working on new music. There will also be a new album, although he did not announce a release date.
