New Music Round Up: 13/03/18

March is well underway and new music is coming at us from all directions. This week’s New Music Round Up is jam packed with incredible new offerings from all of your favourite artists, so sit back and enjoy the musical delights we have to share with you.

Kicking off this week’s round up are the electro-pop trio Years & Years. After an awful lot of teasing on social media, they marked their long awaited return with ‘Sanctify’ a few days ago, and we’re already hooked.

DJ Khaled & Demi Lovato dropped their incredible new collaboration ‘I Believe’, taken from the soundtrack to A Wrinkle In Time. John Newman also made a stunning comeback with his explosive new single ‘Fire In Me’. James Bay and Kylie Minogue released new tracks from their forthcoming albums, whilst GOT7 dropped their new album Eyes On You.

Other new music came from the likes of The Shires, Logic, Manuel Riva & Alexandra Stan, Dannic & INNA, Suho & Jane Jang, The New Division, Jessica Mauboy, Ashlee Keating, Betty Who, Bolier, and Liv Dawson.

Fickle Friends – ‘Wake Me Up’

‘Wake Me Up’ is taken from Fickle Friends’ highly anticipated debut album You Are Someone Else, due for release on March 16. Speaking about the track, frontwoman Natti Shiner says: “‘Wake Me Up’ song is about wanting a relationship to work so bad but knowing deep down, it’s not going anywhere. It was the last song we wrote for the album.” The band are currently embarking on a UK tour before heading out to Europe and the USA later this year.

Sagan – ‘Need You Too’

Following on from the success of ‘Boomers’ and ‘Happiness’, Sagan is back with his
latest track, ‘Need You Too’, out now on Tiësto’s label, Musical Freedom. Speaking about the track, Sagan said: “‘Need You Too’ is a special track for me personally. Being a fan of experimenting, I put together my usual sound, progressive vibes and charming vocals of the 90s, and I think it is going to sound big across the festivals this summer.”

Ciaran Lavery – ’13’

Ahead of the release of his new album Sweet Decay on April 13, Ciaran Lavery has released his new single ’13’. The track is the second to be taken from the album and shows a more upbeat side to the artist’s sound. Speaking about the track, Ciaran said: “’13’ deals with my own feat born from an inability to handle long lasting love without contributing to its destruction. I cannot say it any plainer than that really. This song makes me feel uncomfortable. But I want to be as honest a songwriter as I can be; I don’t have any other choice but to face these things head on.”

Hannah Jane Lewis – ‘Aftershock’ Acoustic

A few weeks ago, the incredible Hannah Jane Lewis released her new single ‘Aftershock’. Since then, the songstress has amassed over 270,000 streams on Spotify and has received support from Radio 1. Now, Hannah has given her single a new edge by releasing an acoustic version of it. The acoustic take really showcases Hannah’s vocals, proving why she is one to watch in the industry.

Youngr – ‘Ooh Lordy’ bundle

Fresh from the release of his single ‘Ooh Lordy’, Youngr has dropped a package which contains an acoustic version of the track in addition to a remix by DJ/producer Blinkie. The DJ has released official remixes for the likes of Major Lazer, Sigala and Anne-Marie so Youngr’s ‘Ooh Lordy’ is in very good company. ‘Ooh Lordy’ is lifted from Youngr’s ‘This Is Not An Album’, a collection of all of the songs he’s released over the past year.
