Family of Mike McDaniel
On March 6, 1983, McDaniel was born in Aurora, Colorado, to a Black father and a White mother named Donna.
Regretfully, his father died in a terrible car accident while he was just four years old.
After this tragedy, Donna was forced to raise McDaniel by herself as a single mother.
Although Donna was raised on a farm in eastern Colorado, she was left a widow in her 20s and had to take care of her young son.
Donna, a single mother, took jobs as a credit counselor and in commodities sales to provide her son with a secure existence.
She saw to it that the coach was engaged and concentrated during his early years. McDaniel credits his mother’s unwavering love and support for all of his numerous achievements.
Growing up, he had little contact with his deceased biological father. However, Donna, his mother, put up a lot of effort to be both his mother and father.
He and his mother are still quite close to this day.
Since 2014, the American coach has been wed to Katie Anne Hemstalk, and the two of them have a daughter, Alya June, who will be due in 2020.
