Maximillion Cooper, Gumball rally founder

My friends are pretty wowed by this place. It’s a 10,000sq ft penthouse apartment in Ladbroke Grove, west London. I live between here and a family house in the country. I bought it in 2007, knocked it down and rebuilt it. It’s only been finished for about a year. My family home [with the rapper Eve] is more conservative and traditional; this place is more fun.

Most of my contemporary art collection is here. I have more than 3,000 paintings. I buy the work because I like it. It’s not a business, but I like knowing that if I want a new work I can sell or trade one on the walls.

My motorbikes are on display here as well. I use a BSAB40 when I go out. It belonged to Steve McQueen. I’ve always been into bikes. From the age of three, my dad took me to school on the back of one. He’s never driven a car in his life.

My children come to visit me all the time. I have a room full of Seventies and Eighties pinball and arcade machines, which they love. I also have pool tables and a cinema.

I run the Gumball brand from my office here. We have a film company, a clothing label and run a 3,000 mile car rally once a year around the world.

This is the living space. My dining room table sits 20 people. I’ve made a bar and a DJ area. It’s a great place to keep the night going after an evening out.

Rob and Nick Carter

This is from the couple’s Postcards from Vegas series. It’s of an ice cream on top of a volcano in Japan. Rob and Nick had a box of postcards from the holidays they went on as children and merged them with iconic neon signs. It’s striking.

Charming Baker

Charming is the new Damien Hirst. I know this circle of artists and met Charming at one of his shows. His work has gone from selling for £5000 to over a million in the past five years, so it’s a great piece to have in my collection.

This was the world’s best motorbike in 1911. I bought it at an auction in Pebble Beach in California about five years ago. I’ve started it, but I haven’t ridden it. It’s been restored to such a high level that it’s worth a serious amount of money. It’s now more of a museum piece.

Machine gun

I found this in an antiques shop in Chelsea and just thought it was beautiful. I’m not a serious gun collector, but I like iconic pieces. I’ve bought James Bond memorabilia from Man with the Golden Gun over the years and have some gun props from Star Wars.
