Radio host Mitch Churi was spotted running at Sydney’s City2Surf marathon just days after revealing he’d lost 20 kilograms.
The annual 14km race follows a route from the NSW capital’s CBD to Bondi, via the eastern suburbs. Every year thousands of people enlist, and the race takes over the city for the day.
It has become such a thing that even the odd celebrity pops up. For instance, this year, former Bachelor star Tim Robards joined the race, as did Churi.
Keeping it real, Churi posted about enlisting in the race on Instagram.
“From developing extreme chafing on my first hot girl walk eight weeks ago to running my first City2Surf,” he wrote.
The radio host also said that while he looked fabulous, he actually had Band-Aids on his nipples to prevent uncomfortable chafing while he did the run.
“2023 has been one big sweaty journey.”
Churi hosts a nightly KIIS radio show and has joined Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne to host 3pm program The Pickup.
In a recent Instagram Live he addressed the interest in his changing body and said that he was working with a nutritionist and seeing a personal trainer twice a week. He added that his aim was to be healthy, not to lose weight.
Churi now shares daily content of himself going on walks, and encouraged any fans to stop him if they see him getting up his steps.
He’s also asked questions that many of us can relate to – like where to buy the best cream to stop chafing between his legs – and has shared how sweaty walking makes him in videos.
It’s an un-glam but fun approach to fitness content.
Churi, 27, has endured a tumultuous year.
He broke up with his long-term partner Hayden Hicks and choked up when discussing the demise of their relationship – alongside Byrne and Hockley on their radio show.

“I pictured our life together. It feels like a mid-level heterosexual divorce, and we weren’t even married, but I pictured our life together,” he said.
Churi went on to explain that the pair were no longer in the same place, but when they were together, he was already planning their whole future.
“I was thinking about proposing. We have spoken about adopting kids and surrogacy.”
