Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, made a splash at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and they have managed to get everyone’s attention although they did not take a prize home.

The mother of three was nominated for best original song – motion picture for the song, “Spirit,” from The Lion King movie.

The power couple opted to skip the red carpet and had the final say on the official photo that would be available to the media.

They also used the rare outing to plug Jay-Z’s brand of champagne, Armand de Brignac. Their security guards were spotted carrying two bottles of the pricey drink.

Some in the media think she was making a statement, while others say she was just uncool. I realized I had to take control of my work and my legacy because I wanted to be able to speak directly to my fans in an honest way. I wanted my words and my art to come directly from me.
