She opened for The Weeknd during his fall 2013 tour that took place in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Her parents divorced when she was a teenager. Due to this, Banks struggled emotionally and turned to music to deal with her sadness. She learned to play the piano by herself, during this time and also began writing songs.

In 2020, she was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Hashimoto’s disease.

At the beginning of her career, Banks once shared her real phone number on her social media accounts so that she could directly connect with her fans.

Her song Waiting Game (2013) was used in the Victoria’s Secret holiday commercial in 2013 as well as the film, Divergent (2014). Additionally, her other songs titled You Should Know Where I’m Coming From and Goddess were featured in the drama series, Grey’s Anatomy.
