Her brother Varun is an actor who has appeared in various shows such as Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan (2001), Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand (2001-2005), and Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani (2002-2006).
Alka’s younger sister Kalindi is a well-known radio jockey who joined Radio Mirchi in the past.
Her father Vishwa Mohan S. Badola was a stage artist during his younger years.
After training at the National School of Drama Repertory in Delhi, Alka relocated to Mumbai, Maharashtra in order to make a career out of her passion.
Until mid-2019, Alka made headlines for all the wrong reasons as she was released from prison after serving 2-year long-term imprisonment at the Sangrur district jail.
In 2015, Alka along with her mother borrowed an amount of INR 50 lakhs from a known person who was a farmer named Avtar Singh as they were on the verge of producing a serial of their own. However, when the time came to return Avtar’s money, Alka and her mother had reportedly given him 2 checks of INR 25 lakhs which bounced when Avtar Singh tried to cash them in.
The farmer took the matter to a court in Malerkotla where Alka and her mother Susheela were sentenced to 2 years in prison.
Alka has appeared in a number of hit films such as Queen (2014), Banjrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Veere Di Wedding (2018), Soorma (2018), and Badhaai Ho (2018). Hence she has worked alongside various well-known stars like Salman Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Paresh Rawal, and Kangana Ranaut.
